flowers and vegetables

I have been trying to spend a bit of time in the garden every day.

But sometimes it is raining so hard that the mud tries to suck me under.  Or paper work gets in the way.  Or my body says only a few minutes can be spent working this way.

I am finding time to pull up the weeds that are coming up around the tomato plants.

I just make sure I do not pull up the flowers.  I have never grown larkspur before and I am enjoying the blues and purples.

Most of the lettuce has bolted, but not all.  The chard and kale are still good.  The squash are trying to set plants.

And we got the first eggplant, a green tomato, and a almost rip tomato today.  We will soon have many tomatoes because at least one bush is larger then I am.

My garden is always an adventure, even if it is just for a few minutes a day.

Hello Elizabeyta,
We had bumper crops of tomatoes in summer and although it's Autumn here, we are still getting lots of cherry tomatoes which I use mainly for our lunchtime salads and breakfast, stewed with bacon and eggs for my husbands breakfast. I think I bottled about 40 jars and I have lots in the freezer as well.
With regard to my sewing machine, I really want to thank you so much for your help as I've been struggling with the stitch length which was way to long for regular sewing. I love using my grandmothers machine and to think it doesn't need to be connected to electricity is very satisfying for me. I was able to find out that it was made around 1912 so my little beauty is 100 years old and still going strong.
I love your larkspurs, the colour are beautiful.
Blessings Gail

I am so glad my suggestions helped with the machine. I love my treadle!

I have never had larkspurs grow before and am enjoying them so much.

Blessings,
