back from the mountain

We are back from the mountain.  It feels hard this time, especially since the weather here is bouncing between autumn and winter.  I like the colder weather.  I brought back greens for the season here.  Not as many as I would have wished but we had much too much stuff to bring back even though we left stuff on the mountain.  I would have really liked to have brought a whole tree back but there would have no way that I would have been allowed to strap a tree on top of the suburban and who knows what shape it would have been in.  Soon.  I have to keep thinking soon.  Especially when I have such a Monday Monday.

Since I went to a wedding instead of going to SAFF, I bought fiber.  I am spinning yak right now.  It is sooo soft.  It is a bit finiky after working with the last wool I worked with but that happens.  Each new fiber is a learning experience.  I will have to figure out what to crochet with it.  It is so soft I am definitely thinking some hand warmers and maybe a smoke ring but then I think sweater.  Decisions.  Decisions.  My thoughts just keep whirling.

stitching for the mountain

I have been working on dresses to take to the mountain with us.  Everything that I think is crucial to be sewn on the machine has been.  I now have hand stitching to do.  We get to camping or we are on the mountain and I find my hands like to be full.  I pick up embroidery or crochet.  This time I am going to have hemming to do.

I cannot wait to be on our mountain!

foggy

My head has been very foggy today.  Ragweed is high and I have been loopy.  I got a little quilting done today after hours of sleep.  I have to admit there was not much creativity today, just healing.  Maybe tomorrow will be better.

basting a quilt

I got a quilt "basted" last night.  I am not really sure how.  The help I was receiving was not very helpful last night.  I thought I was going to get less "help" because Poppa was watching Motor GP last night.  Motorcycles!  Usually Small Mister rushes right over but Grandmomma was MUCH more interesting.

It is going to be an interesting week to get this quilted.  We are off to a wedding next weekend.  I am trying to finish a dress for it that I am making out of my stash.  I just wanted something different to wear.  Since the Tall Short Person has plans for that weekend too, we have Small Mister every evening.  Her plans may have changed but that does not change the work schedule.

It is going to be an interesting week.  And the weather has finally changed here.  I wish to go camping but that does not look like it will happen soon.

Hopefully, quilting will get done.  I do have a deadling for this quilt.  The weekend after Thanksgiving.  We may be seeing Nirjinan then.

peanut butter chocolate banana

There are days that I want something sweet but my body and arthritis are saying that sweet does not need to have too much refined sugar in it.  I had one of those days recently and decided to try one of those ideas that floats around of using frozen bananas for a frozen treat.  The biggest difficulty is making sure you have a blender of food processor power enough.  Take a couple bananas and some chocolate syrup (I like lots.  My Beloved likes less) and blend ferociously.  I stirred in large soup spoon of peanut butter.  I did not wish to blend it in because I wanted the texture difference.

Not bad.  Do not let anyone convince you this is ice cream but if you want something with less sugar and less dairy this works.  And I do not hurt so bad the next day.  It does fulfill the craving.  I do have to admit that if I add milk of some kind and blend it all together it reminds me of the Jamba Juice peanut butter mooed but better.  That is really my go to.  A junk food dinner type of day.  Hamburger patty pan fried, salad, and the smoothie.  My kind of junk food.
