the last of the current sewing for Small Mister

This coat is the last of the current sewing for Small Mister.  The main body is wool.  It is lined in orange flannel and the hood is lined in owl flannel.  It is not going to fit him past this winter but it is a good coat for chasing after Grandpoppa in.  My Beloved is one of his favorite people and these two like to get in mischief together.

I am going to have to look at different coats for next year.  This one was from Handmade Beginnings.  I made the two.  It was the largest size and it almost is not big enough.  I button the deer buttons and that seems to help.  But after February, it will be given away so some other small person can use it next year.

requested for Small Mister

The Tall Short Person went through all the clothes that she had been given for Small Mister and realized that there were very few 18 to 24 months pants.  It is what he is wearing right now but he will be out of them too soon for all of us.  He is growing taller quickly.

I went to one of my favorite fabric stores in the area and put these four pairs of pants together to match the three I made him at Christmas.   We are having to roll the lets up a bit but they are going to last for a bit.  He is eating so much right now I can see him growing again soon.

When I worked on these, I worked on two quilts.  I am getting all the pieces put together.

a bit of fun for my best friend

I decided my best friend needed a bit of fun in her life.  I decided to play with the nightgown I always make her for Christmas.  I put many yards of ruffles on it but not as many as I thought about.  I thought about putting ruffles all the way to the floor from her hips but I figured she can always cut these off and she would still have a nightgown.

I added some beaded lace, just cause.

Now it just needs to be shipped.  After I finish one more cowl for her!  The newest cowl will have ears.  Like I said, more fun!

pajama pants for the tall short person

I fell over last night after work.  I think I am still fighting the overdoing.  But should I be surprised?  I am still making presents for my loved ones and going to work.  And then there is the thing about my allergies to cedar.  The combination means a lot of sleep.

These pajama pants were a huge hit with the tall short person.

Small Mister really liked them too!  He moved like a Jawa from Star Wars when he wore them this way but he liked wearing them this way a lot!

another modification

I know I originally posted about this nightgown when I made it.  For my Mom again.  When we were there at Thanksgiving, she mentioned the sleeve thing.  I offered to change the bodice on this and put sleeves on it.  Her sister took home the other one I embroidered for her.  I would tease about being a theif in the night but it was breakfast and I went home with two cashmere sweaters.  It was all about repurposing.

Here it is.  It went into the box I sent for my Mom's stocking.  Then I found I missed a few things.  Another stocking box will have to go out after Christmas.

We are off camping.  I hope you have a lovely Christmas.

Merry Christmas.
