for Miss Lillian

I finished 100 nine squares and laid them out.  It was one of the few quiet times I have had recently where Small Mister was not crawling on the floor.  He likes fabric so it would have been interesting!  This quilt is going to be for Miss Lillian.  I have about half the strips put together right now.  

Just lots of sewing going on.

I started another kilt for my Beloved this last weekend.  He picked the color and I was very surprised.  I am going to make the waistband green and I am thinking about cargo pockets.  If I do make cargo pockets, they weill be green as well.  I go the initial measurement made, cut, and the fabric hemmed.  Now, I need blocks of time, chalk, squares, and straight edges.  A kilt is much more about making accurate measurements then anything else.

blankets for Small Mister

We have all noticed that Small Mister really likes the color orange.  And that he also sleeps better warm.

We have an old polartec sweater that he likes to hold on to in the truck.  It is orange.  He likes to teeth on my skateboard wheels.  They are orange.  Actually, anything orange, he really likes.

I put together two orange flannel blankets for him.  They both have silky edges.

This one hit the bag so fast as they were heading out the door, you can only see the colors.

How much does this short person like orange?  He put up a fuss when we tried to take this flannel scrap off his head.  Why am I not surprised!

a dress to wander new york city in

This is the other dress I made for our travels.  I wandered around New York City in it.  This is the dress that goes from a party to riding a bicycle.  I am the crazy lady on the bicycle.  This is the style of dress I wear for that.  But for a party...  add heels!  

I just like basic styles that feel good on my body.  A dress in a couple of hours.  That is easier then going shopping for me.  And I know it fits and I like it.  It is part that makes life good.

Oh, by the way, it rides a skateboard well too.  And rows.  This is really my do everything dress when I wish a bit shorter.

a new dress for a wedding

I wanted a new dress for the wedding we went to.  I have a tendency to wear the same dress because I get compliments on it and I can dance in it.  My Beloved and I Argentine tango.  But I wanted something new.  This fabric I found at purlsoho.com and the dress turned out very well.  

I usually do not wear this short anymore but for dancing!  I am very pleased.
